BEAVER, Pa. — The first wrongful death lawsuit was filed Wednesday against Brighton Rehab in Beaver County.
The lawsuit has been filed by the family of a housekeeper who died from COVID-19.
The family of Elizabeth Wiles claims the facility’s owners failed repeatedly to protect workers, residents and visitors from infection.
Wiles died on May 10. Nearly all of the coronavirus-related deaths in Beaver County were linked to Brighton Rehab.
Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 reached out to the facility for comment on Tuesday.
“While we cannot comment on pending litigation, we mourn those who have passed away from this virus,” a statement from Brighton Rehab management said.
