Constantia, N.Y. — Members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 26-year-old Hastings man on Thursday. The arrest stems from a vehicle collision in September 2019, which killed one person.

Michel M. Palmowski II is accused of leaving the scene of the collision in the Town of Constantia. Palmowski’s car went off the road and hit a tree on Center Street. A 23-year-old female passenger, Courtney Riddel of Baldwinsville, was seriously injured in the crash. She later died from her injuries.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash. Palmowski was charged with Vehicular Manslaughter 1st degree, a Class C felony; leaving the scene of a fatal accident without reporting, a Class D felony; and two counts of Aggravated Unlicensed Operator in the 1st degree, a Class E felony.

Palmowski was arraigned on all charges at the Oswego County CAP Court. He was released on his own recognizance due to bail reform and is set to appear in the Town of Constantia Court on July 6.
