BOSTON — With many Boston attractions scheduling their reopening dates for next week, Mayor Marty Walsh is scheduled to provide a briefing on the city’s ongoing response to COVID-19.
Boston is scheduled to enter Phase 3 of the reopening process Monday, one week after the rest of the state. Gyms, museums, youth sports, movie theaters and tour vehicles are all among the industries included in Phase 3.
Walsh is scheduled to speak at 2 p.m.
In addition to COVID-19, he is likely to face questions about violence in the city over the holiday weekend. Boston police reported five homicides in four days, as well as 9 nonfatal shootings and 3 nonfatal stabbings.
So far, 13,556 cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Boston. Of those, 710 patients have died and 9,504 have recovered.
New data is published daily around 4 p.m.
