Shortly after 1 a.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2012, an MBTA blue line train collided with a construction vehicle near the Wood Island Stop near East Boston. The train, the last of the night, was heading towards Wonderland station when it collided with the vehicle.

 

It was reported that there were 40 passengers aboard the train at the time. Emergency personnel were called to the scene to attend to the victim, who had been driving the vehicle. The driver reportedly suffered injuries, though none were said to be life-threatening.
