Early Thursday morning, on August 2, 2012, a truck had just left a construction site and was traveling on Route 128 north with the dumper up.

The truck slammed into an overpass at Route 95 around 5 a.m. As a result, the dump container was ripped off the truck, and a sign on the overpass was mangled. Three lanes of the highway were closed for the cleanup.
Truck drivers are not always attentive to roadway restrictions, such as those relating to vehicle height. Therefore, it is critically important for motorists to pay special attention to large load-carrying vehicles on roads, keeping their distance when possible, especially in the vicinity of tunnels, bridges, and overpasses.
Truck and car crashes unfortunately are a fact of life. Although we hope of course that we and our loved ones will not be involved in any incidents on the roads, it is important to understand your rights should such an accident occur. The first step is knowing whether or not you even have grounds to file a claim for your injuries. The question of whether the accused party was indeed negligent must be examined carefully before filing a claim. The facts of each individual case can be quite complex, requiring sifting through accident reconstructions, police reports, and insurance policies, among other inquiries. The accident scene should be investigated, coordinated (when necessary) with a proper team of professionals and experts, examining all evidence.
