Recently in Chelsea Massachusetts, a bouncer was charged with stabbing a club-goer 10 times in the head, neck, and chest after the club employee followed the victim, who reportedly had been kicked out of the establishment.

Initial reports indicate that the 49-year-old bouncer and 33-year-old victim had gotten into an altercation earlier that same night. After the incident, the victim was sent to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he remained in critical condition before being released five days later.  The bouncer from the club was arraigned in Chelsea District Court, where Judge D. Dunbar Livingstone imposed cash bail of $50,000.
Swartz & Swartz, P.C. has successfully represented victims in premises liability actions over the course of decades. Such lawsuits include generally the negligent failure to secure premises to prevent injuries. Security failures in this context are especially concerning when they involve a failure to prevent illegal acts, like assault and battery or sexual assault. Further, a security failure can also result from the lack of training or supervision provided to employees at premises including bars and lounges, restaurants, schools, or nursing homes.
At the Boston law office of Swartz & Swartz, P.C., our injury attorneys are at the forefront of protecting victim’s rights by bringing personal injury cases to court for inadequate security in premises liability cases. Careless hiring of staff, failure to train and supervise staff, and failure to ensure that security is adequate to protect guests, patrons, or residents can result in serious injuries, emotional scars, and even wrongful death. We are committed to ensuring that the victims of negligent security are compensated for their injuries and losses.
