Bass Pro Shops is being sued by a semi-trailer driver who was allegedly injured in an incident involving the company’s freight.
Robert Moore filed the lawsuit last Thursday after claiming he was hit in the head by falling freight when he was loading at a facility in 2016.
The lawsuit says the incident was caused by Bass Pro’s negligence in improperly loading a trailer, using a defective load bar and not properly wrapping the freight.
The state court case will ask the Springfield-based outdoor retailer for compensated for lost income and medical expenses that Moore incurred from the incident.
The lawsuit gives details about the incident, saying in 2016 Moore went to pick up a trailer loaded by employees or agents of Bass Pro Shops and drove it to a Bass Pro Shops location in Tallahassee, Florida.
Moore noticed that a load bar was dislodged and a palette had moved in the trailer when he arrived in Florida. When he went to notify Bass Pro employees, they refused to fix it and told Moore it was his responsibility, according to the law suit.
