Williams-Sonoma has recalled 28,000 Whirly Whip hot chocolate pots after eight consumers have reported injuries when the handles broke off during use, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The CPSC has received 28 reports of the handles breaking off the pots. When the handles break off, they can pose laceration hazards, and expose users to potential burn injuries.

The Whirly Whip hot chocolate pots that have been recalled were sold separately with item number 2981454 or 4986535, or the Whirly Whip hot chocolate pot gift set with item number 3021714. This item number can be found on the pot’s box, below the bar code. The pot is white with a red handle. The chocolate pots were sold nationwide in Williams-Sonoma stores from October 2010 through January 2011.
